Sting: Modern Music Is Rubbish

Sting has branded modern rock music âœstagnantâ and says that he prefers listening to 16th Century English ballads.

Sting, whoâ™s recent album of Dowland lute music top the classical charts, is currently indulging in the music of composer John Dowland rather than anything recently released.

First Swede convicted of sharing music files online

a Swedish court on Wednesday fined a man for illegally sharing music files online, making him the first Swede to be convicted for spreading copyrighted songs over the Internet.

The 44-year-old, who was not publicly identified, was fined 20,000 kronor (euro2,160; US$2,700) by the Boras District Court in southern Sweden for making four songs available for download by other users of a file-sharing network.

Taping TV and music soon legal in Australia

Copying television programs and music will soon be legal under amendments to copyright law.

The changes will also make it easier to prosecute copyright pirates.

Attorney-General Philip Ruddock, who introduced the Copyright Amendment Bill to parliament today, said the internet and digital technology had created new challenges and opportunities.
